The new poetics of Giacomo Failla in holograms, calligraphy and celestial silhouettes
by Anna Maria Ruta
Three dimensional effects, optical interferences and diffractions, symbols and Pop Art citations characterize these new works of Giacomo Failla, painter, eclectic, who loves to question himself and, with continuous experimenting with his brush, to metamorphose the set of his signs, to make others, equally attractive and new, explode. Failla has always loved the intricate paths and has always dedicated himself to the creation of formally articulate plots, in which the complexity of his cumbersome, reflective and emotive processes reverberates, but today, looking at the elements with a different awareness and experience and with variations of perspectives, Giacomo Failla makes emanate from his brushwork beams of light, shreds of brightness, which by and by suggest the reading of his new compositional and chromatic installations, of his new artistic universe.
